What better way to ring in the new year than with a fun filled karaoke party. If you would like to impress your friends and family this year with a New Year party then you should think about a karaoke party. There are not many people who could resist a bit of karaoke, I mean, who does not want to get up in front of a bunch of people and belt out a song loud and off key. If you like to sing then again, it is perfect for you. Planning the ultimate karaoke party can take some time, but will have a result that will be well worth it.
First thing you will want to do when planning your ultimate karaoke party is get an estimate of how many people will be attending. This will be important to ensure the location you choose is able to accommodate your party. Location is important in planning your party. You need a location that can fit all the appropriate equipment as well as good seating for those that choose to sit and watch the show. You'll also want to have room for people to dance if they so choose. If you have a large basement, that would work, or you may have to have it in an outside building such as a hotel ballroom or church.
After choosing the best location to host your party, you will want to find the right equipment. If you are planning a party for a lot of people then you will want to rent equipment and quite possibly a DJ. Hiring a professional DJ to spin all the music would be a lot easier than trying to organise the music by yourself or having your guests do it. You can search the yellow pages for a place to rent the equipment or a DJ. Perhaps you have friends that have hosted a party before and they have connections.
Next thing you'll want to do is create the perfect invitations . It was mentioned earlier to have an estimation of how many guests you would have at your party, but that was just an estimate, now is the time to send invitations. You will want to get people to come by sending them something intriguing that will welcome them and leave them wanting more. What you could do for invitations is send a blank CD that is decorated to fit the theme. It could have all of the contact information. Just make sure you have your guests RSVP so that way you know how much food and drink you will need to feed your guests.
The type of food you will want to prepare should be simple. Just stick with basic finger foods like open face sandwiches, crisps, meat and veggie trays, and stuff like that. A lot of people are going to be walking up to the stage area to sing any way. If you have to deal with utensils and the mess that goes with it, it'll be too much work.
Good luck with your New Years karaoke party, chances are people will be talking about it for months to come. Just follow the aforementioned steps and you will be golden.
